No. 60 Mercer Street is of historical and architectural significance to the Borough of Queenscliffe. It is of historical significance as an example of a small, commercial premises erected in the township in the late 1870s. The original shop component is also significant for retaining key elements of its original architectural character, despite its adaptation to a residential property, and other modifications. It is additionally representative of late-1870s commercial developments in Queenscliff, with its facade and entrance directly on the street.
