It is historically significant as an early weatherboard dwelling dating to the 1850s-60s, and for its long association with the pilot service in Queenscliff, in particular with John Henry Barber who served as a pilot 34 years; he also served as a Borough Councillor. It is also significant as an example of a mid-nineteenth century house in Queenscliff which, although it has been altered, is still demonstrative of vernacular weatherboard construction of the period. |
