STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The semi detached pair of two storey polychrome brick terraces at 42-44 McKillop Street, Geelong were built in 1882 for Geelong builder JC Taylor most probably to design by Alexander Davidson, Architect.
The distinctive details believe his hand, including French Romanesque derived ornamentation to the facade. The pair are of architectural interest for the noteworthy ironwork and original modeling and have historical connections with JC Taylor and influential Geelong builder whose firm continues to the present day.
