The house has further significance as an award-winning design by Charles Duncan, who was heavily influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, and who became a leading exponent of the 'Organic' style in Melbourne. The house at 4 Glenard Drive won Duncan the 1965 Victorian Architecture Medal for single house design (Criterion D).
