Church Statement of Significance: Citation A church of massive limestone construction with diagonal buttresses, consisting of a nave, built in 1874, transepts added in 1889 and apsidal chancel in 1908-11. The stained glass windows include the work of Ferguson & Urie (from St Paul's Church, Melbourne) and William Montgomery. The pipe organ, of unknown builder and provenance, dates from around 1850, and retains its original pipework, action and attractive painted case of three towers and two flats. Church Classified 30.8.73
Organ Statement of Significance: A single-manual organ of 7 stops of unknown provenance, of English construction and dating from around 1850, installed at Sorrento in the 1920s. The instrument, which retains its original action and pipework, is of particular interest for its attractive painted case of three towers and two flats incorporating diapered dummy pipes. It is the only historic pipe organ in the lower Mornington Peninsula. Of regional significance. Organ Classified 19.8.92
