The yard is roofed in several places to provide work and storage areas, and there are a number of wood and iron buildings against the fences of the yard.
The plumbers shop is in the south west corner of the yard. An open-sided structure with a galvanised iron roof covers a large area used as the boilery yard. Supports for the structure are iron ship masts. The ground cover in the boiler yard is made from ships plate welded together. There are two other sheds on the eastern side of the site, one is labled "Rigging Store", the other is the old ship shed, now used only for storage. There is also a steel storage area along the eastern wall.
