Planning History:
Registered as Victorian heritage

Statement of Significance as recorded under the Queenscliff Heritage Study 2009
Sefton is of historical significance as an early Queenscliff residence, built and occupied by pilot William O'Neil, and for its association with other prominent residents in the community, including pilot Henry Reed and hotelier George Admans. It is also of historical and architectural significance as a substantially intact example of a mid-nineteenth century house in Queenscliff. It forms part of a cohesive group of early houses in this part of King Street, all of which were constructed by early Queenscliff pilots. The group is of particular interest for its contrast with the form of development seen at Pilots Row.
