The picturesque Library is a rendered building with moulded architraves, string course quoining, and central projecting porch. The windows have flat arched heads with a keystone. A timber hall is at the rear of the Free Library. The style is characteristic of the work of Alexander Davidson in the 1880's and shows the influence of French historical sources in the stylised details. References The Queenscliffe Sentinel 18-10-1884 describes the timber hall at rear.
