Although relocated, it demonstrates original design qualities of an interwar Public style. These qualities include the dominant gable roof form, horizontal weatherboard wall cladding, timber framed pivot windows with transoms and mullions, wide eaves and the decorative gable infill (ventilators, battening, panelling and brackets). The substantial pine trees contribute to the significance of the place. The Hausen-Halle former Connewarre Memorial Hall building at 1280 Barwon Heads Road is historically significant at a LOCAL level. It has been associated with the Connewarre community as a public hall and memorial to soldiers killed in action in the First World War.
