Historically, this house is significant for its associations as the home of Harold Keys, Shire of Berwick Engineer from 1904-1948 and member of an important Victorian family of land owners, graziers and horse breeders. (AHC criteria A4, D2 and H1) Aesthetically, this house is significant as a fine example of a 1930s inter-war English Cottage style.
