STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
28 Mercer Street has architectural significance at a local level. It is a representative and reasonably intact example of Early Victorian commercial architecture in the Geelong region. The building retains characteristic siting, form and typical Victorian facade details. Notable features include small decorative brackets, corbelled chimneys, and the original concave verandah canopy. The ground floor shop fronts have been substantially altered. |
