Designed by the Ararat architect, Michael Ryan for a local auctioneer, John Young, and built in 1904, Yetholm is a conservative Edwardian country house. It is of brick, single-storied and has a verandah along three major elevations. Internal fibrous plaster decoration and classical doorcases are to be noted. It is no longer the "dark red villa" mentioned in the press of the time of building. Many changes have been made including the removal of the verandah balustrading and the painting of the brick and stonework.
