Some minor changes took place in 1914 and in the 1970s. The Drysdale Primary School has historic and social value to the Drysdale community. The Drysdale Primary School is an example of a purpose built small rural school constructed soon after the Education Act of 1872 made the State responsible for compulsory education of all children. It is an example of the designs of Henry Bastow, Victorian Education Department architect and it has been in continuous use as a school since it was built.
