Please note that this is a "Building Citation", not a "Statement of Significance". For further information refer to the Building Citation held by the City of Yarra. History: The Rate Books first list two 4 room wooden houses on this site in 1872. They were owned by Henry Willerson, and valued at ?27 each. Willerson was the occupier of one, and Robert Williams, a teacher, the other. Willerson, who is listed variously as a storeman, a painter and a gentleman, owned the houses until at least 1885, when they were valued at ?22 each. Description: 419-421 Punt Road, Richmond, comprises a pair of double-storey semi-detached 19th century houses. The side walls are of brick, whilst the facade is clad in weatherboard. Each dwelling has, at ground floor level, a front door and set of three timber-framed casement windows with highlights, added during the Edwardian period. The front door to No. 419 has side and highlights, which appear to be original. At first floor level there are four double-hung multi-paned sash windows, two with lower panelled doors to provide access to the balcony. There is a timber-framed verandah and balcony, each with different decorative cast iron lacework friezes; the balcony has a cast iron lacework balustrade. The balcony roof is encompassed by the main transverse jerkin-head roof, which is penetrated by a single brick chimney with brick corbelling. The front fence is not original. Significance: The pair of houses at 419-421 Punt Road, Richmond, is of local architectural significance. The pair is an unusual example of an Italianate brick terrace pair with a weatherboard facade. The house is substantially intact following the alterations made in the Edwardian period, and is a prominent feature in the streetscape. | | 03 Dec 2022 | Construction of a two-storey dwelling (to the rear of 419-421 Punt Road), and a reduction in the car parking requirements of the Yarra Planning Scheme. | (Source: , 申請編號: ) |
