STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
26 Mercer Street has architectural significance at a local level. It is a representative and reasonably intact example of Victorian commercial architecture in the Geelong region. The building retains characteristic siting, form and unusual parapet details to the first floor. Other notable features include large scrolls, a heavy cornice, brackets and window openings. The ground floor shop fronts have been substantially altered. |
