It is important for its capacity to demonstrate the manner of worship of the Congregationalists since absorbed into the Uniting Church (Criterion A) and as a late nineteenth century and Federation period church in the Gothic Revival mode, occupying a prominent position in the Ascot Vale Road streetscape. The symmetrical facade treatment and banded arch faintly recalling the preceding era of structural polychromatic work are important stylistic elements (Criterion E). |
