Group Statement of Significance: A row of 7 contiguous cottages ranging in period from 1873 to 1891, all of simple timber construction and occupied by a succession of tradesmen and servants. Nos 37 & 39 of 1891 are typical of many similar cottages constructed by the Metropolitan Building Society throughout the Melbourne suburbs prior to the Society's crash in that year.
