Aesthetically, it is significant as perhaps the only example of a postwar Modernist dwelling in Hobsons Bay. The pavilion-style design and layout is highly evocative of this style, which illustrates influences of innovative domestic architecture by architects such as Robin Boyd at the time of its construction.
