It is important as a surviving villa representative of the development spawned by the "Aberfeldie Estate" subdivision of 1888 and compares with other similar houses in this respect. Its association with Edward H. Kinnear of Kinnear's Rope Works in Footscray is of interest, Kinnears' being one of the four Victorian manufacturers of rope products since last century. |
