Why is it Significant?
Historically, it is significant as one of a number of surviving corner hotels situated in proximity to the port of Williamstown and illustrates the improvements that were made in response to the License Reduction Board in 1907. (AHC criteria A4 and D2)
Aesthetically, it is significant as a representative and externally intact example of a Federation hotel that contributes to the historic character of the Government Survey precinct as one of a number of corner hotels within this area. (AHC criterion E1) |
