STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
135 Fitzroy Street has architectural and historic significance at a local level. The building is an unusual example of 1920s industrial architecture with notable details. The warehouse complex remains its characteristic siting, form, ironclad walls, an unusual arched profile roof on the north-east corner. Large ventilators and corrugated iron doors have also been retained. The building encompasses and entire street block and is a substantial element in the streetscape. It has historical association with Dennys Lascelles, a prominent Geelong Woolbroking firm.
