Statement of Significance as recorded under the Queenscliff Heritage Study 2009
Mythian is of local historical and architectural significance as an example of a modest Victorian residence built in Queenscliff in the early years of its development. Although modified, its original form remains legible. Mythian is also of interest for its historical associations; with early settler James Taylor, who worked in the lighthouse service for many years; and a number of prominent Victorians who either owned or occupied the house in later years, including the Hon. Caleb Jenner MLC, and brewer and businessman Edward Latham. |
