Little Hampton Primary School No.1700, built in 1876, is architecturally significant in being one of only a few of the Education Department "80-type" timber schools extant within the State.
The Little Hampton primary school is substantially intact and retains most of its original features.
The school is also historically significant in being able to provide an example of one of the Education Department's first attempts to provide the facilities within which the new "free secular and compulsory" system of education could be imparted. |
