Statement of Significance as recorded under the Queenscliff Heritage Study 2009
Captain Bowers Cottage, constructed in the 1870s, is of historical and architectural significance to the Borough of Queenscliffe. It is of historical significance for its association with Captain George Bower of the pilot's service; and as one of a number of surviving former pilots' houses in this area of Queenscliff which had been associated with pilot's houses since 1853.
